Millie alighted down on the island. This was an island Millie wasn't use to. She had never seen it before though she had never been up to the Bitter Sea. Four or five owls were flying away somewhere toward the other side of the island. Millie followed these strange owls. She alighted back down on the other side where the owls had disappeared. Millie looked around till she found a hollow. She hopped inside to see it was empty. Odd, she though. Millie hopped inside to see that a nest was already there with white feathers lining the moss. Something alighted down outside and Millie turned around. The owl gasped. "You... you're a Pure Ones owl aren't you?" the Snowy hooted. "Of course not! I'm against them. I'm from the Ga'Hoole tree. I'm here to find out if St. Aggies or the Pure Ones has effected the Northern Kingdoms or not." Millie hooted. "Oh, I did see owls the looked sinister flying around. I'm a gadfeather." the Gadfeather hooted. "Thank-you, that's all I needed." Millie hooted then she took off. "Come back soon!" the Gadfeather waved bye.

Clyde swiftly flew the skies of the bitter sea as he noticed some sparkling figure below."Maybe this owl might be able to help me." He hooted alighting down infront of the stranger, it as a snowy and by the looks of it she was a gadfeather."Hello ma'am I was wondering if you knew where I could find roses here." Clyde hooted. "Well there is one over there."She pointed her wing over to a red rose covered in sparkling frost. "Beautiful." Clyde hooted before picking it out of the ground with his talon. "Any special reason you getting a rose?" asked the gadfeather. "I'm giving this to a special barn owl." hooted Clyde. "I just saw one a few nights ago, a really beautiful one, she was from the great tree." she hooted. "Probably Millie." He hooted before flying off back to the great tree where he could store the rose in a great place in his hollow.
