Grog Tree.... An encounter with a hag.

[Bliss]

Siv alighted down on a branch, her face slightly covered by long tendrils of moss, holly berries tucked in her tail, and several blue-black raven feather forming a neat headdress on her head. "Another gadfeather to sing a song!" The bartender bellowed. "Of course" Siv replied softly. "I guess I could sing.... Ice and Sky."

"Well done, well done young'un." The owls called.

Siv dipped her head, and settled on a perch with a cup of bingle juice. Suddenly, she felt a burst of anger. "I AIN'T, as you say, a YOUNG'UN!" She shouted, sweeping away her bingle juice and flying off. A dark shadow swooped past the grog tree. A hagsfiend. Siv glided off, wondering why. Then, she spotted the hagsfiend. "Hagsfiends? NO!" I have no weapons. She thought. I will have to use my talons. Siv charged the hag, who flipped its head, and beams of yellow light shot towards her. The fryngot! Siv slashed through it, and plunged her talons into the hagsfiend, tossing it to the ground. "Hags are back...." She muttered over and over again, flying fast as possible to the great tree.

Clyde just sat near the bartender deep in his cups like he sometimes is. He listened to Siv's wonderful song."I think I have seen that owl before.." He thought to himself.His eyes shot wide open as he saw the gadfeather killed that owl..but was it a crow? Maybe he was just imagining things, he was deep in his cups.

[Bliss]

Siv alighted on a perch close to the grog tree again, noticing Clyde. She stared at him, and gave a muffled churr. Clyde? The strong, open-minded, grounded ryb was wobbling around. "Well then Siv, go on, let him have his fun." She murmured to herself, taking off again for the tree.

[Millie]

Millie alighted down in the grog tree. She had been out dancing on her own to the lovely song of Siv's. Some other Gadfeather was singing now and she walked up to Clyde, but she was also a little tipsy so she didn't notice it was Clyde. "May I have this dance?" she asked Clyde.

Clyde was abit in his cups but he had some sense."I'd be delighted to Millie" He hooted jumping out of his seat.

[Millie]

Millie looked at Clyde as they danced to the lovely voice of the gadfeather. She felt a hiccup from all the cups. She hiccuped, but kept dancing. This was not the first time she dance, but the first time she danced in a grog tree.

Clyde was happy dancing for it reminded him when he was a young'un. He turned his head to Millie."You..Hic..are looking his..really beautiful..hic..Millie." He hooted while hiccupping. He might still be deep in his cups but he never lost his manners."I never..hic..want to lose..hic..a friend like you..hic..ever in my life." He hooted.

[Millie]

"That's... so sweet... hic... of you." Millie hooted. She hiccuped once again and continued to dance.

The night soon grew into day and the owls in the grog tree flew off except for a few who stay behind to help clean up. Millie looked down into her reflection, she was as beautiful as ever, she thought to herself. She knew she would become a great owl someday, an owl people would remember in their hearts. She hiccuped one last time, then flew out of the hollow to find somewhere to rest for the night.

Clyde had just left his hollow having the red rose glistening with frost in his battle claws which he didn't take off since he was afraid of being late."He glided through the skies with a happy look on his face and eyes filled with joy."I hope I don't make it too late." He hooted as he continued to fly towards grog tree for he was outside of the shadow forest.

[Millie]

Millie alighted down in the Grog tree. The gadfeather was already dancing and singing. Millie was so nervous that in her hollow she almost passed out. Millie had seen her once mate in the Spirit wood, but he had said about an owl from the outside. A few of the drunk owls were making faces and telling her to come over, but Millie passed that. She didn't want anything to do with the outside owls. Millie asked for a cup and the owl behind the branch politely gave it to her.

Clyde flew into the grog tree as the gadfeathers sun with hearts content. He spotted Millie at a table."I hope I ain't too late." He flew over to her table and raised his talon which had a red rose glistening with frost."A token of my affection Mill." He hooted.

[Millie]

"Awe, how sweet. Thank-you, Clyde." Millie took the rose. She watched it sparkle in the dim light as she moved it around. A few owls behind them churred and Millie looked behind. When she looked behind, they stopped churring and put their cups to their beaks. Millie looked back at Clyde. "I was so nervous in my hollow before I came here." she hooted. She didn't add the part where she almost fainted, for she thought that would make her nervousness sound too dramatic.

Clyde sat down and looked at Millie."Yeah, I was nervous too, I was so nervous I accidently crashed into a tree on the way here." Clyde heard as the Gadfeathers sung."Millie, would you have a dance with me?" He hooted, holding his wing out to Millie.

[Millie]

Millie smiled. "Why sure, Clyde." As she extended her wing and touched Clyde's, the owls behind churred again. Millie turned totally around and stomped her talon on the ground. She seemed to be twice her size now. "This is no manor for owls. So what if a Barn owl and a Snowy are out together. You three are just a bunch of owls who like to get drunk, no wonder you haven't seen the rest of what's out there!" The three owls seemed to shrink in size. Millie went back to her normal size and followed Clyde out to the dance floor.
